RHETT SCOTT POOLE

Rhett Scott Poole born Wed. December 2nd at 7:03 am Weighing in at 7lb 6oz and 19.5 inches long and very healthy.
We went in to the hospital Tuesday night, well I guess Wed. morning at 3:00 after contracting all day long and at 6:30 they took me for a repeat c-section.
I was very anxious this time around, I'm not quite sure why but after he was born all that was replaced with excitement and joy. The only bummer was that Dax was not able to see me for three days with not being aloud in the hospital because of H1N1.I was so excited to get home to Dax. He met me with a big hug that brought tears to my eyes. I missed him so much.
My mom was able to stay with us for a week which was awesome. She was so much help. Now my sister Stacy is here till Sunday, my parents will come pick her up then. I forgot how overwhelming it is to have a new baby but I've really enjoyed this last week, even through the emotional times. I can't believe a week has already gone by.

Here's a picture of our fun little family. What cute boys I have. All three of them.

HAPPY NUMBER 2!

Dax turned two on Monday so we had all of Scott's family out to our house for cake and ice cream. He loved the balloons and the football cake and the many many gifts. He wasn't too sure about everyone singing to him but I think by the end of the night he realized that it was an important and fun day for him. Scott and I enjoyed being with him that day and remembering back two Thanksgivings ago. I can't believe it's gone by so fast. And let me just say that Dax is all boy. He's so fun to be with. Happy Birthday Dax. We love you.

KITCHEN FLOOR!

If you haven't heard our tile drama the short story is that a week after we put it all down in our kitchen and entry way the tiles came loose, they popped and cracked and all the grout chipped away and broke off. I don't have the best pictures of before but you can see in the background how they are all loose and the grout is missing in a lot of areas. A disaster and heartache to say the least. But three years later we have a awesome wood floor. We love it! It's nice to know that I won't have to sweep grout up three times a day anymore and Dax can play trucks on the floor and not have them get stuck on the tile.

CHOCOLATE PUDDING!

Dax helped me make brownies the other night and what kid doesn't get to eat the beaters after helping mom? Dax called it chocolate pudding and loved it.
Not sure what cheese grin he's doing there but pretty cute.
Scott showed Dax himself in the mirror afterwards and Dax totally did the chin drop of "Whoa, what's all over my face?" It's been a week now and he still asks to see the chocolate pudding on his face on the camera and talks about it none stop. Just out of the blue he'll say, "Chocolate pudding, face, mirror, funny."

"I scared mommy."

We picked out this tiger costume for Dax and for some reason every time I'd show it to him or ask him to put it on he'd say " I scared mommy." For the longest time he would barely even touch it. But after much coaxing, reading books about tigers, making tiger noises and showing him that he looked silly in the mirror, he finally loves it. He loves the paws the best and pretends to scratch you while he makes a tiger noise. I tried to paint whiskers and a nose on him but every time he even saw the pencil he'd run and say no. Oh well still a pretty cute little tiger.

We went over to Scott's moms house and took pictures of the kids. Maddex is Nemo and Jett is squirt the turtle. Pretty dang cute. Maddex pretended to swim in the leaves.

October Fun!

Dax and I went and saw my sister Amy and her family in October. Our trip was very low key and relaxing (greatly needed). Dax loved playing with Aidan and Jack. All three of them ran up and down the halls, played trains, watched Handy Manny and Dinosaur Train. It's always fun to see cousins play well together.

Friday we went to the annual Harvest Festival. Aidan ended up getting sick and wasn't able to come but Dax and Jack still had fun. The Harvest Festival was more fun this year with the boys being older. They enjoyed it all; the hay maze, the pumpkin patch, the tractor, the jump and bounce, and air filled catapillar and mostly the pumpkin doughnuts. I think we ate a dozen and then took a dozen home. They are that good. Dax picked out his own pumpkin and we carved it a little later that week. Dax thought the pumpkin guts were "ewe yuck" so he enjoyed drawing on it.

I always have a good time when I visit my sister. It's nice to visit, relax and watch the kids play. Some of Dax's other favorite times there included; watching baseball and football with Mike, playing with the "big truck", playing with but watching from afar the little dinosaur that walked and made noises (he wasn't quit sure) and waiting to eat breakfast with Aidan and Jack.

BUMPS AND BRUISES!

The last five minutes of nursery Dax and I were hanging out by the door ready to go. As the door opened he turned, tripped on his foot and slammed into the door leaving this bruise. Before I could even pick him up it was already this swollen and blue. I'm just glad it didn't split. There was a lot of pressure under that bump.
He was pretty tough. He didn't cry for very long but kept rubbing his head and saying ouch. He even had a smile for me. Not too many things slow him down.

CRAZY D!

We found this clip of a little boy doing crazy tricks on his four wheeler. They call him Crazy P. Dax loving four wheelers right now will watch this clip over and over again. You can tell as he watches it he's figuring out how he does his tricks. Sure enough here's Dax copying his crazy tricks. Dax can do the one footer, the wheelie (whee whee), standing, and of course we can't leave out wrecking. I think that's his favorite. He purposely wrecks most of the time. This is our Crazy D. It's fun to see how brave and crazy he can be.

Manito Park

I went to visit my sister Amy, AGAIN. We went to this really cool park. Inside it had different themed gardens. A few that I remember are Japanese Garden, Rose Garden, Lilac Garden and English Garden which is the picture I have here. As you stood on the top of the stairs, it looked like you were looking at a picture out of a magazine. Each garden was so pretty and they smelled so good with all the flowers they had. It was really neat. Dax and Aidan loved the water fountain.

They had some playground toys. This little one was perfect for Dax. The rock climb, the slides, everything. He loved that he could go down the slide all by himself and not crash into the ground at the bottom. They had ducks there at the pond that we fed a lot of bread to. After our bread was almost gone we saw the sign "Do not feed the waterfowl. OOPS!

Being there was very relaxing. We really enjoyed spending time with family.

TAKE ME OUT TO THE BALLGAME!

We went with some of our friends to a Salt Lake Bees game a couple of weeks ago. We decided to make a weekend of it, so Friday we went to the Bees game and Saturday we swam at the hotel in the morning and then went to Hogle Zoo.

Dax was a huge fan of "The Bee". Just at a far distance though. Up close, not so much as you can see.

Here is Jake, Heidi, Case, Me, Dax, and Scott. Hoss and Chris were taking the picture and Chris was holding Kate. The boys got sword balloons but by the end of the night I think all of them had popped. They were giving out free bike helmets for the kids. All the kids got a bike helmet including little Kate. Dax enjoyed his hot dog and ice cream in a baseball cap. He still points to it on his shelf and says "ice cream" .
Here's us three, well I guess 4. I'm looking pretty pregnant there.

Hogle Zoo

I forget how big Hogle Zoo is. And how much stuff there is to see and do. We were able to see the giraffes. One of them just had a baby which was nine days old, so we felt lucky to see that as well. Dax loved the monkeys the best I think. Each time we left the monkeys to go see something else he'd throw a fit. He tried to mimic the monkeys. You could tell he really enjoyed it, which made it fun for Scott and I.
We rode the carousel. Dax could have rode that thing all day if it was up to him. By the first time I was done.

Here's the whole group of us that went. It was fun to be able to go and do something with our friends. We had a really good time. Kids make it hard to do things sometimes, but all in all, they make it much more fun!

MORMON BEND CAMPING!

This last week was our annual camping trip with Scott's family. We go to Stanley and stay at a campsite called Mormon Bend. They have paved roads which makes it nice for the kids to ride their bikes. Things we enjoy doing while we are there for a week include: floating the Salmon River on our inner tubes, eating great food, fishing, going to the hot pools, relaxing, playing cards and sitting by the fire after our kids go to bed and just enjoy being able to visit and watch the kids play well together.

We look forward to this camping trip all year and we're sad when it's over. Next year there will be a couple more kiddos running around that we'll have to chase. It will be lots of fun.

VISITING MY SIS!

This last week I was able to go see my sister Amy in Spokane. Thanks to a conference I had for work, I didn't have to pay for anything. I feel really lucky.
Our first day we went to Greenbluff Drive and picked raspberries. The kids loved it. Dax helped a whole bunch but wasn't sure about the taste.
We had raspberries for breakfast, lunch and dinner. We even made some raspberry freezer jam. It was awesome.
The next day we went to the city pool. Admission was only $1 for me and Dax was free. Can't beat that fun. The kids are all water rats.

Continued

As you can see the back seat was crammed, but it worked out really well. I think poor Aidan got the bad end of the deal, but he was a sport.
They loved playing outside in the pool, riding their bikes and pushing little toys around.
My conference was Friday and Saturday, so Amy watched the boys. That couldn't have been easy.
What cute boys we have. They are so much fun. I'm glad that I'm able to go see my sister as much as I do. I'm going again in August, so there will be lots more pictures then. I think my favorite parts of this trip were picking raspberries and staying up way past my bedtime to watch Bones or CSI NY or any movie on TV.

NEW NEWS!

Wednesday we went to the doctor and found out that we are having another boy. YEAH! We're really excited to have another boy in our family. Now Dax will have a little buddy to play with. He'll be a great big brother. He already loves babies and is really soft and gentle with them. That might change a bit once he sees all the attention the new baby gets. But I still think he'll love him tons.

4TH OF JULY!

For the fourth we went down to my parents house. We left Friday morning. We first went to Brigham City pool with my sister and her kids and swam all day. Scott and Dax had a blast going down the big slide and Dax loved the little slides that he could do all by himself. I was impressed with how long Scott was willing to stay. He's normally good for about a half hour and that's it. This time he said, "It's a lot funner with a kid". So yeah, I get to stay longer and I have someone to chase Dax.

That night we went and watched Logan's fireworks in the mall parking lot, ate pizza and was able to visit with extended family. Saturday we woke up early to make it to the Lewiston parade. Dang that parade has a lot of candy which is super fun for the kids. We had a picnic lunch at my mom's house and later that night we went to Logan's old car show The Cruise In. We ended the night lighting fireworks at my parents house. Little Jack got scared so he went to bed but the rest of us enjoyed all of them. Dax kept saying again, again.

We left that night to come back to Blackfoot. We didn't' get home till 12:30 but we had a really good time. The fourth of July was a lot of fun this year.

Water Fun!

Yesterday my friend Katy and I took Dax and Maddy to Ross Park. I wasn't sure how Dax would do, it was a little windy but still warm. We were there for about two and a half hours. Just perfect I think. Dax loved it. He walked all over the kiddie toys, up and down the stairs, played in the shooting water, went down the slide by himself and followed Maddy wherever she went.
I think Dax had the most fun counting to three and running in and out of the pool. They did this for a good 45 min.

Here's Maddy showing us here floating skills. Very good Maddy! I can now say that Dax is a water rat. Thanks for going with us Katy.
