FAMILY CAMPING

In August we went camping with Scott's family to Mormon Bend Campground just outside of Stanley, Idaho. Like always, we had a really great time. A lot of work goes into it all, but once we get up there and situated we're able to just relax and enjoy each others company. This was Dax's first camping experience and besides not sleeping at night he did awesome. It gets really cold up there at night. Even Scott and I froze. During the day when it was warmer we fished, floated the river, soaked in the hot pots, played cards till late at night, ate good food and visited Stanley Lake. In years past we've always gone to Red Fish Lake so we decided to go to Stanley Lake this year. It is so pretty up there, the scenery is amazing.

Our tent is kind of scary looking. We started out in the grass but then the camp manager said we had to move since the tents can only go on the tent designated area, so we moved to the black top. With no place to tack down our tent we jimmy rigged it to the trees. Pretty sad looking. We're just glad it didn't blow away.

Maddex enjoyed pulling Dax around in the wagon, Baylee and Addison enjoyed the water and playing in the dirt. Overall we had a great time and look forward to going next year.

Eastern Idaho State Fair

The Eastern Idaho State Fair came to Blackfoot. It was a blast. We enjoyed being with our friends and family. My family came up from Wellsville to spend the day with us. We loved the petting zoo and of course the food (curly fries, tiger ears, funnel cakes, teriyaki chicken rice bowl, pepsi by the gallons, fried snickers bar and much much more).

Catching up

We thought we would catch everyone up since it's been awhile. We've really enjoyed these last few years in Idaho. We bought a house that needed some TLC. We've remodeled the entire inside and hope this next summer to work on the outside and yard.

Idaho has been a great place for Scott to do the things he loves (hunting, fishing). He has hunted coyotes, deer, bear, elk, doves, rabbits, and mountain lions so far and is really looking forward to shooting something. Turns out he is a better hiker than hunter. Scott works at Spudnik which is a company that sells potato harvesting equipment (www.spudnik.com). He works in their finance department and has really enjoyed his job. He is 2nd counselor in the bishopric and really enjoys his calling, but sometimes wishes he could be home a little more.

I work at Bingham Memorial Hospital in the Operating Room. I work only two days a week which has worked out well for us. I like the people that I work with and have made many friends there. I've really enjoyed my job, but wish I could be home with Dax full time.

Scott played city league softball this summer where he played pitcher and 2nd base. Some of the other things we did this summer were swim in the the city pool, camp, boating with friends and family and just enjoyed hanging out.

Do I dare? I'm going in.

What did you give me? I don't know about this.

Nope, definitely don't like limes!

Dax's hat

After a lot of time, frustration, and patience I am happy to announce that Dax's hat is finally finished. YEAH! It turned out really cute. It only took me 6 months to complete. My sister Amy was great to teach me and to help me out, even through the frustrations. It's kind of big but I'm hoping he can wear it through the winter. He kind of looks like a king with his crown on. What a cute boy!

I found pin covers at the hospital and put them on the ends of my sticks, because if I dropped another stitch his hat probably wouldn't have gotten finished.

Look mom no hands.

Dax has been putting things in his mouth lately and crawling
around with them in his mouth. He thinks he is pretty hilarious
or at least his mom and dad think he is.

Dax

Here's another picture of the same thing. Some of the objects that go into his mouth are blocks, pens (that's probably not the best idea), rubber fish, and toothbrush.
